We're happy to officially announce our new daily short-form gold-making podcast The GLDMKR Podcast (pronounced "The Gold Maker Podcast").

We've been doing the podcast for over 2 weeks now (so you have some catching up to do) and we thought it was time to let all you Power Word: Gold readers in on the secret.

Episodes usually run under 5 minutes in length so they are fairly easy to keep up with.

(On a side note, all episodes of The GLDMKR Podcast are recorded, edited, uploaded and posted from my iPhone.)

So I am officially on my last day of my "One Month, One Toon" Challenge. In just over 12 hours I will be able to finally start playing my other characters! If you've been watching my livestreams (twitch.tv/jimyounkin) over the last month you know that there have been times where I've chaffed under the Challenge's restrictions of only playing one character for an entire month.

After the jump I talk a bit about what I've learned from the challenge, some unexpected side-effects. What I hated most. What I loved most. What I did (and didn't) get accomplished and more this last month.

So it's been 11 days since I started my One Month, One Toon Challenge and it's time to report back on how it's going, what I'm learning and what I'm missing. (If you're confused by my Nelf'ish figure above, it was a teleporter malfunction. A horrible, disfiguring malfunction!) Read on past the jump for my experiences so far.

I'm what you might call an "alt-aholic". I love toons. Toons, toons and more toons. I have ten level 85 characters on my main server. I have far more than ten alts of various levels scattered over various servers. IN gold-making it is often very advantageous to have such a set up. Having multiple toons with multiple professions is a very solid strategy.

There is something, however, that I think I may have lost in my race to "have all the toons" and that is focus. Perhaps it is all the time I've been spending in Outlands reminiscing about "the good old days". Perhaps it is seeing people struggle to make gold with just one or two characters.

Mainly I just want to feel the way I did about a singular character the way I did in The Burning Crusade. Whatever the reason, I've decided to create what I am calling the "One Month, One Toon" Challenge. Read on past the jump to see how I'll be spending my next 30 days in World of Warcraft.

Hey everyone. Power Word: Gold will be going on hiatus for the next month or so. I am anticipating this break to last until late August. Pinkeytoes and I are going to be moving residences soon and the move coincides with the my feeling that a break from blogging is just about due.

If you need to contact us during the hiatus the best way to do that would be to send an email to powerwordgold@gmail.com. While we won't be checking the email as often as we are now we'll try to check it as often as we can.

Tomorrow's Power Word: Gold Podcast (Episode 016) will be our last post before the break. The podcast will also be on hiatus during the month but there is a chance I will have a few other projects (The Tram Rats Podcast?) coming out during the break. If I do post on any other of my projects I'll be sure to mention it on the Power Word: Gold Twitter/Facebook/Google+ so keep an eye out. There's also I good chance I will be popping up on Twitter and/or Google+ from time to time during the break.
