Tonight I thought I would talk a little about my favorite memories about playing World of Warcraft "back in the day" as they like to say. Although WoW Classic only includes Vanilla content I will also include some Burning Crusade memories as that really was my formative years playing WoW. Read on for some of my thoughts on my fondest WoW memories.

As you may have read in my previous post (Can You Make Gold At Low Levels? My Results From Level 1-49) I've been leveling a Warrior from level 1 to 60 in as close a "Vanilla" style as possible. Today I finally finished leveling her to 60 and I wanted to share a few additional thoughts on the process.

In preparation for the launch of Legion I've been working on a project to build the character I'm planning to give my free level 100 boost to.

I already have 14 level 100s so it wasn't necessarily an easy choice as to who to give the boost to. I already have a level 100 of every class and an extra 100 Hunter, Paladin, and Warlock (invasion XP was too much to resist leveling a few extra 90s I had laying around).

I settled on making a human female Warrior and leveling her to 60 and giving her professions so that when she was boosted to level 100 her professions would be leveled up automatically as well.

Sometimes I like to give my characters unique constraints (remember my "One Month, One Toon" Challenge?). For this Warrior I decided to level her "old school"-style. No Heirlooms, no mount until level 40, and no addons. As a fun side-project I wanted to know how much gold could a character like this make. Read on for more.

If you've been upset about the recent confirmation by Blizzard that they will  start offering $60.00 paid level 90 character boosts you may want to read on. What we think the real reason behind the new paid service might surprise you.

I was firing up WoW on a laptop that I hadn’t used in a while and since I had a bit of time on my hands while the game patched I decided to read the patch notes.

I’m glad I did because I read one of the most awesome patch notes I had in a while: We can finally mail our heirloom items to our characters on others servers.

And not just Connected Realms but any realm where we have a character on our account. Read on past the jump for details.

(Quick personal note: April and I were blessed to have a hearty and healthy baby girl come into our lives on Dec 10, 2013. She is our first and, as any parent can tell you, babies take up a lot of time. The results are totally worth the effort but if you notice things slowing down a bit here at Power Word: Gold just know we're busy helping "level up" the cutest level one you've ever seen.)

With 11 new characters (and 22 new professions) to level in the next month I thought I'd go over something I briefly touched on in Episode 77 of the podcast: The most efficient way to level 11 new characters.

In the podcast I mentioned that Recruit-a-Friend was likely going to factor into my strategy. In this post I'm going to explain how I'm planning to use Recuit-a-Friend to level 11 new characters as fast as I can.
