WarcraftEcon.net Reborn as WarcraftEcon.com

Last year as I was going through some old links I tried to view my original 250K WarcraftEcon interview and was saddened to find out that WarcraftEcon had gone offline. All that information, all those Hall of Fame interviews were gone forever.

For those of us who have been making gold for a long time, WarcraftEcon was one of the seminal gold-making resources and sources of inspiration. Perhaps best known for it's Hall of Fame series of interviews WarcraftEcon was an important part of gold-making history.

I decided to contact Oligopoly who had run WarcraftEcon.net and see if I could help bring WarcraftEcon back to life and you know what? He said yes! Read on for more information on the return of WarcraftEcon.

/Cast Resurrection

When I contacted Oligopoly about helping bring WarcraftEcon back to life I was delighted to find out that not only was he amenable to the idea but he also had an entire archive of WarcraftEcon including images.

We were able to work out all the details on how the restoration project would work and got to it.

We're happy to report that we were able to ring back online the entire WarcraftEcon website including all the Hall of Fame interviews.

New URL. Same Great Content.

WarcraftEcon originally existed at WarcraftEcon.net but unfortunately the original domain name had since gone out of Oligopoly's control.

We were, however, able to obtain the WarcraftEcon.com domain name and that is where WarcraftEcon will reside going forward.

Feel free to update any old WarcraftEcon.net links you may have laying around to WarcraftEcon.com links. We've worked to try to make sure that, other then the .net and .com, they match.

Something Old, Not Much New (Yet)

Some of you who remember WarcraftEcon might be asking yourself what the plans are for the site going forward.

Our main goal in working to bring WarcraftEcon back online was to return access to all of the great Hall of Fame interviews that Oligopoly had collected and posted over the years.

The WarcraftEcon Hall of Fame was an institution in it's day. As you were reaching a gold-making milestone you were already writing your WarcraftEcon interview in your head.

I am happy to say that all of the interviews are now back online. If you ware wanting to find yours check the Hall of Fame page or use the site search.

As for what I plan to do with WarcraftEcon in the future, for now I don't plan to do much other than ensure that the archives are online and accessible.

As time goes on I plan to reintroduce the Hall of Fame to the site and start posting any new Hall of Fame submissions we may receive.

Also for those wanting to post milestones to the Community Gold-Making Milestones page that don't have their own blog we will be directing them to submit a WarcraftEcon Hall of Fame post.

Where's Oli?

Some of you might be asking if Oligopoly will be involved in the new WarcraftEcon. Yes and no. Oligopoly will be involved with a bit of behind-the-scenes advising here and there but other than that I will be taking responsibility for WarcraftEcon moving forward.

Again I want to express my gratitude to Oligopoly for not only entrusting me with WarcraftEcon going forward but for also creating something so great in WarcraftEcon. I'll do my best to continue its sterling reputation.

Kind Of A Big Deal

I know those of you who may be new to gold-making might not even know what WarcraftEcon was but to a certain group of us having WarcraftEcon back in action is kind of a big deal.

I'm just excited thinking about it. Thinking about all the gold-making knowledge in all of those Hall of Fame interviews. Its exciting. I'm excited. Can you tell I'm excited?

Conclusion

We're excited to have been part of bringing WarcraftEcon back from the dead and look forward to future Hall of Fame entries.

Perhaps we'll have to add a 3 Million gold section to the Hall of Fame someday.

As a source for gold-making information beyond Hall of Fame interviews we're not quite sure what we're going to do with that. There's the possibility that we might start working with others to bring content to WarcraftEcon but all those plans are up in the air at this point.

For now I'm just excited to have the site back up and running and I plan to spend some time digging into the content that is already there.
