Last year as I was going through some old links I tried to view my original 250K WarcraftEcon interview and was saddened to find out that WarcraftEcon had gone offline. All that information, all those Hall of Fame interviews were gone forever.

For those of us who have been making gold for a long time, WarcraftEcon was one of the seminal gold-making resources and sources of inspiration. Perhaps best known for it's Hall of Fame series of interviews WarcraftEcon was an important part of gold-making history.

I decided to contact Oligopoly who had run WarcraftEcon.net and see if I could help bring WarcraftEcon back to life and you know what? He said yes! Read on for more information on the return of WarcraftEcon.

Back in July of 2011 I hit my 250K gold milestone. At the time the place everyone wanted their milestones posted was Warcraft Econ. Warcraft Econ was a blog about gold-making that also allowed people to submit gold-making milestone posts. (These days everyone is welcome to submit their milestone posts to the Community Gold-Making Milestones page.)

Since that time Warcraft Econ has shut down and my original 250K milestone post is no longer accessible. For the sake of posterity (and a bit of nostalgia) I've included the full-text of my original 250K gold milestone post. Read on for a blast from my gold-making past.

We do a lot of things in this livestream but none of them really compare to the moment when we hit two million gold in front of everyone. We also do a happy dance with our (very unamused) cat!

Earlier this week I reached 2 million gold on my main server. Now that I've had a few days to let it sink in I thought I'd jot down a few impression on what it means to reach 2 million gold. Read on past the jump.

Today, February 7, 2013, marks the two year anniversary of the first post ever on Power Word: Gold.

When we marked our one year anniversary we made note of how much the visual look of the blog had changed.

This year we want to highlight the increased avenues for sharing gold-making information that have taken place. Read on past the jump for more.

The fact that people have come to look at content we've created over a million times is incredible. We're humbled.

I finally reached "gold-cap" of 1 million gold yesterday (Friday the 13th of April, 2012) on the morning livestream! (To see the moment I actually hit gold-cap follow this twitch.tv link.) I have to say that, while I am feeling mixed emotions, the feeling I'm feeling most is happiness. I just wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know that my 250K gold Hall of Fame interview was posted over at WarcraftEcon today.

Here is a short excerpt.

Q: How did you learn to do it? Anyone or resource you would like to thank?

A: The Undermine Journal’s “frontpage” (before they shut down the first time) that listed a large number of gold-making blogs was the first place I found out there was even such a thing as a “gold blog”. I started off (like many people) by reading the blogroll at Just My Two Copper. From there I found Alto’s Goldish Advice, Cold’s Gold Factory and Nerf Faids. I’d have to say my early experiences were most influenced by those three blogs. When I decided to start blogging about gold-making I was thrown into a whole new world of gold-making ideas and (much like the Borg) have tried to “assimilate” as many gold-making tips as I can. Not every strategy is a fit for my own personal gold-making style but I’m fascinated by how others are making their gold.

I would like to thank all those in the gold-making community who share their time and effort writing gold-making blogs. I’d also like to thank all those who read my own blog and offer encouragement and share their own gold-making wisdom with me.

One million gold! Six months ago the most I'd ever seen at once was about 50k, so hitting this milestone was quite a rush.

What started out as a plan to collect enough gold to buy up pieces for the then-rumored caster legendary soon became an interest in itself - I found making gold quite enjoyable, to the point where probably half of my play time was involved in gold-making pursuits. Now, I find myself out of game reading gold-making blogs and forums as much as raid strategy and class gameplay tips.

What you're all probably most interested in, though, is how I did it. I don't think I've done anything that would surprise seasoned gold-makers but after the jump you'll find my commentary on what I found effective (and not-so-effective) by profession.
