Patch 6.0.2 The Iron Tide New User Interface Bits

Blizzard pulled me back in with 7 free days of game time. So far I've updated my files and jumped into game. So far all I've had time to do is log in and poke around the new interface.

(In addition some of you who have been reading the blog may notice some visual changes to the blog. We're happy to say that Power Word: Gold is now a "responsive" site which means that it is is much more readable on tablets and smartphones as well as desktop.

With going responsive we've also streamlined the overall look of the site (we didn't accidentally all of our blogger widgets without backing them up. That definitely didn't happen. *cough*) and will continue to refine the look of the site somewhat here and there. If there was something you used to find on the site that you can't now be sure to let us know.

In addition the new layout may have some funkyness and images in past posts may not all be perfectly readable on smaller devices. We apologize as that's just the price we pay for going responsive.)

Below are some images and impressions including how my favorite addon Adibags handles the Reagent bank.

What's New Screen

The "What's New" screen

When I logged in I was welcomed by the above "What's New" screen that seemed designed to help new (or more likely returning) players know what's new. Mousing over the two left items highlighted the new areas on my interface itself.

I should also note that on a female dwarf I was given the above screen letting me know my character model had been "upgraded".

Apparently I had some "over-the-cap" justice points that I received about 1000 gold for. Nice.

Reagent Bank

I initially had to turn off Adibags in order to purchase my Regent bank. (This may have been due to not knowing where the Reagent Bank buttons were on Adibags which I'll get into in a bit.)

Once purchased for 100 gold you'll have a special section in your personal bank to store reagents. In addition there is a very handy "Deposit All Regents" button at the bottom that should make getting reagents out of our bags a snap.

Once reagents are in the reagent bank there is a button in the upper right to "clean up" your reagents which will be great for combining stacks as well as keeping things nice and tidy.

If you're like me and love the bag addon Adibags then you may be confused at first about how to intereact with your Reagent bank. Luckily for us Adibags has been updated to allow access to our Reagent Bank.

The afformentioned "Deposit All Reagents" button from the default interface can be invoked by pressing the red "D" button in the upper right of the Adibags interface.

If you'd like to see your reagent bank in Adibags you simply press the red "R" button in the upper right of the Adibags interface.

I'm very happy that the Adibags team is keeping it up to date with the new interface changes. I'm not sure how I could live if I couldn't use Adibags. No other bag addon has ever come close to working the way Adibags does for me.

Conclusion

While my play time is very limited these days I'm still injoying getting into WoW and puttering around now and then. I'd love to hear from you how you're enjoying Patch 6.0.2 so far.
