Parking Unused Characters For Profit

We all have them. That level 43 shaman we abandoned or that level 55 warrior that we stopped playing to roll a death knight.

We all have a few characters that simply sit on our character screen and look at us with puppy dog eyes as if asking “Why don't you play with me anymore?”

Today I'm going to be giving a few suggestion on places in the world we can park these alternate characters in order to make gold.

Vendor Recipes

Parking an alt at a recipe vendor that is either limited-quantity, out-of-the-way (or both) is a great way to make gold.

Players often need recipes that are sold by various vendors around Azeroth. Many are willing to pay a premium for them (either because they want to save the trip or are unaware where they are sold).

Below are some of the more common recipe locations where you could park an alt.

-Lorelae Wintersong in Moonglade sells many limited-quantity recipes including the ever-popular Formula: Runed Arcanite Rod among others. (See "Gold-Making Classics: Formula: Runed Arcanite Rod" )

Lower City in Shattrath is recipe central.

The Outlands holds many recipes that players need to help level professions or to help them collect all profession recipes.

 To get your started here are a few examples of recipes available at Shattath vendors.

The above list is just a small part of the recipes available at Outlands vendors. Head out there and explore. You'll find many more valuable recipes worth camping.

Vendor Pets

Many players like collecting pets and enjoy the convenience of being able purchase them from the auction house.

You can use this to your advantage by camping an alt near out-of-the-way pet vendors. Here are a few I'd recommend.

Yarlyn Amberstill in Dun Morogh sells the Rabbit Crate (Snowshoe). (Have fun chasing her down!)

"Shop Smart..."

My favorite out-of-the-way pet vendors is Dealer Rashaad <Exotic Creatures> who resides at Stormspire in Netherstorm. He sells many pets including the following which are only available from him.

• Blue Dragonhawk Hatchling 
• Brown Rabbit Crate 
• Cat Carrier (Siamese) 
• Mana Wyrmling 
• Red Moth Egg

These are just a few examples of how you can utilize an unused alt to help make gold. If you think hard enough I'm sure you can think of many more.

One thing I try to instil in those who I help is to always be thinking of new and interesting ways to make gold.

Reading a tip from a gold-making blog is great but once you actively start looking for your own ways to make gold you will become a gold-making leader and not a just a follower.

By the time tips or tricks filter onto the gold-making blogs they are often common knowledge and therefore apt to be used by not only you but your competition as well.

Critical thinking is the best gold-making tool there is. Spend time every day sharpening those skills by actively engaging your brain by thinking and scheming up new plans.
