World of Warcraft Patch 4.2 Addon Survival Guide



 Patch days are always a scary time for those of us (like me) who use a ton of addons. I've decided to devote this post to helping all of use who use these addons know which of them work and which are borked (and if possible how to un-bork them).

After the jump is my big list of addons and their current status as far as 4.2 goes.

I'll be using the template from my Addons page.


Help me by posting working/nonworking addons in the comments.

I'll be updating this throughout the day. I'll be using a few symbols to mark them.

  • ^ = Updated recently. (May or may not mean it works only that it was updated after 4.2.)
  • + = Known to be working in 4.2.
  • - = Known to be broken/causing errors in 4.2. (I turn these off until they are updated)
  • (No Symbol) = If there are no symbols next to an addon it is likely working in 4.2 without updating. 

I'll mainly be focusing first on gold-making addons and move to the less gold-crucial ones later. As I struggle to get my addons working I'll be updating this list.

    I was getting the occassional error with Carbonite but kept it up cause it was working and it was worth the functionality to put up with the error popup every now and then.

    BUT... I noticed yesterday that there was a fix and I downloaded it, and now it's working fine on my computers. ;-) (You have to go to carboniteaddon.com or something like that... just google 'carbonite wow addon' and you'll find the website). lol

    @Matthew Thanks. I miss Carbonite terribly.

    @Vergadin I'll have to keep that in mind for a future video. You build your UI over such a long time it is easy to forget others don't know exactly how you do it.
